World Health Organisation: భారత్‌లోని ఆరోగ్య వ్య‌వ‌స్థ‌లో కీల‌క‌మైన పాత్ పోషిస్తున్నఆశా కార్య‌క‌ర్త‌ల‌కు అంత‌ర్జాతీయ గుర్తింపు ల‌భించింది. భార‌త్ లోని గ్రామీణ సేవలందిస్తోన్న ఆశా వర్కర్లకు ప్రపంచ ఆరోగ్య సంస్థ (డబ్ల్యూహెచ్‌వో) గ్లోబల్ హెల్త్ లీడర్స్ పురస్కారం ప్రకటించింది. గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లోని ప్రజలకు ఆరోగ్య సేవలందించడంతో వీరు కీలకంగా ఉన్నారని, కరోనా మహమ్మారి సమయంలో అలుపెర‌గ‌కుండా సేవ‌లందించార‌ని కొనియాడుతూ గ్లోబల్ హెల్త్ లీడర్స్ పురస్కారం అందిస్తున్న‌ట్టు డబ్ల్యూహెచ్‌వో డైరెక్టర్‌ జనరల్‌ డాక్టర్‌ టెడ్రోస్ ప్ర‌క‌టించారు. కాగా, దేశంలో10 లక్షల మంది ఆశా(అక్రెడిటెడ్‌ సోషల్‌ హెల్త్ యాక్టివిస్ట్స్‌) కార్య‌క‌ర్త‌లు ఉన్నారు.

గ్లోబల్ హెల్త్ లీడర్స్ అవార్డును అందుకున్న ఆశా కార్య‌క‌ర్త‌ల‌కు ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోడీ అభినందనలు తెలిపారు. “ఆశా కార్యకర్తలందరికీ అభినందనలు. ఆరోగ్యవంతమైన భారతదేశానికి భరోసా ఇవ్వడంలో ముందున్నారు. వారి అంకితభావం, సంకల్పం ప్రశంసనీయం” అంటూ మోడీ ట్వీట్‌ చేశారు.
